That's what she said

Reason for detention: another student made the comment "you need to push it in further" (innocent comment) and Dayton added "that's what she said"

Back to back detention slips this week, I hope you enjoy them!

Detention for Smelling Bad

Reason for Detention: Unhealthy smell in test.
Student Response: it is natural to fart should I get 10 demerit points for a natural body function

Immobilizing Enzymes

Describe how the enzyme could be immobilised.
Break it's legs and tell it to stay out of your neighborhood.
I have a good mind to photocopy this and post it home!

From Kimberley: "the boy in question got an hour after school detention from our Biology teacher, ha! Some people just can't take a joke I guess :)"

Indeed Kimberley; thanks for the submission!

You should never ask a woman's mass!

A woman rides on a Ferris wheel of radius 16m that maintains the same speed throughout its motion. To better understand physics, she takes along a digital bathroom scale (with memory) and sits on it. When she gets off the ride, she uploads the scale readings to a computer and creates a graph of scale reading versus time. Note that the graph has a minimum values of 510 N and a maximum value of 666 N.

What is the woman's mass?

sofatwhenshestepsonthescaleitgoes"oneatattimeplease" kg

That was very smart of the student to remove the spaces from their answer so they could fit the whole thing in!

Thanks to Lane for this one.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Thanks to Isis for this one:

Unfortunately, I do not have the original copy with teacher comments. However, he showed it to me after he got his "bullshit" grade of 50%. It said, "Very interesting, but the assignment was to read a novel, that's why we had reading time in class." This was a term-long project. Even better, he had already read this book for another class: we were doing a translation in Latin.

When the composition is almost as long as the book itself, then you have to give the student an A!*

*really you do, check the rules on marking a composition! I'm pretty sure it's in there... what do you mean 'there's no such thing as composition marking rules'?
